The Quiet Revolution

Hello World,

“The Quiet Revolution” is what I am calling my first blog entry and also the first step out in the blogsphere.

The background for the blog started 3 years ago when I had a fairly unpleasant experience with stress where, for approximately 6 months, I had recurring and severe breathing problems. In light of the fact that I work as a professional musician, I began, with my colleague and friend Poul Reimann, to create relaxing music twice a week.

It began as a “personal therapy” exercise - where we made music to unwind from the outside world - and with no specific objective in mind. However, when we started to research the market for relaxation music, we discovered that the choice on offer within the genre was not particularly varied and mainly consisted of “pan pipes” and “dolphin music”. We thought that it was time to start a record company which focussed exclusively on high-quality, contemporary relaxation music.

We started to investigate how music influences the body, the brain and the mind. It turned into an exhaustive study researching which musical effects – harmonies, rhythms, musical structures, etc., produce the most relaxing results.

The reason for this blog is that I would like to begin a dialogue around the theme “The Quiet Revolution”. I would like to get in contact with others who have an interest in health and stress-prevention work e.g., doctors, neurologists, psychologists, stress-coaches … people! … and, of course, anyone with opinions regarding the musical side of the issue - how music influences the brain, hones the learning process, influences the body, mind etc.

Therefore, I have decided to give away 20 complimentary copies of my CD, “Quiet Conversations”, to the first 20 contributions to the blog.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Jacob Gurevitsch

Hej Jacob Gurevitsch
Det lyder intet mindre en super interessant, det felt du søger at udforske med "den stille revolution"; hvorledes er det muligt at komme i nærheden af en CD, vi er meget interesserede

I am curious to know whether your recordings so far have been used in scientific studies of any kind (relaxation, pain reduction, mood).

Hi J - hope you are doing well.
By experience, music has helped unlock a better side to ourselves.
Your music particularly has created a space for awareness, soothing and reflecting for me and many others.

Let stay in contact,

Excited to hear your new project "Quiet Conversations" :)
